What VR.NDI collects

VR.NDI has no accounts, and the app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking. We don't build a profile of you or of how you use the app.

The app receives video from NDI sources you choose on your local network and shows it in the headset. That video isn't recorded, stored or sent anywhere: it travels only between your computer and your headset, and never reaches Light Sail VR.

To list sources, the app uses NDI discovery on your local network, which shows the names of computers and applications that are sending NDI. Those names stay on your headset.

Crash reports

If VR.NDI crashes, Meta's platform may send a crash report to Meta, which makes it available to us through Meta's developer tools. A crash report typically includes the app version, headset model, operating system version and technical details of the error. It doesn't include your video.

We use crash reports only to find and fix bugs. You can manage diagnostic data sharing in your headset's settings.

Third parties

Meta operates Meta Horizon OS, the Meta Horizon Store, Remote Desktop and crash reporting. Meta's privacy policy covers what Meta collects in those roles, including your purchase.

NDI is a technology from Vizrt. VR.NDI uses it to receive video on your local network; it doesn't send your video to Vizrt. VR.NDI is not affiliated with Vizrt or NDI.

We don't sell or share your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

This website

This website has no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and our own pages don't set cookies.

Like most websites, it's served by a hosting provider that may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it delivers them. The tutorial link opens YouTube, which has its own privacy policy.

Data retention

VR.NDI keeps your settings, such as your last projection, on your headset until you uninstall it. It keeps no video.

Crash reports are kept according to Meta's retention for developer diagnostics. If you email us, we keep that correspondence only as long as we need it to help you, and then delete it.

Security

NDI video travels over your local network. Use VR.NDI on a network you trust, as you would for any NDI workflow. Because we don't collect your data, there is very little of it for us to lose.

Children

VR.NDI is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Your rights

Because the app doesn't send us personal data, there is usually nothing on our side to access, correct or delete. You can remove everything VR.NDI stores by uninstalling it. For data held by Meta, use your Meta account settings.

Depending on where you live — for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California — you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to its processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. If you believe we hold data about you, such as an email you've sent us, contact us and we'll respond within 30 days. We won't treat you differently for exercising these rights.

Changes to this policy

If we change how VR.NDI handles data, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, such as collecting a new kind of data, we'll also note it in the app's release notes before it takes effect.
